    Get started with solar

Solar cell products are available in a variety of designs, ranging from functional and technical spotlights with high lumen output to decorative figures that enhance the atmosphere, and are suitable for most outdoor environments.
All solar cell products need sunlight to function and are designed for outdoor use. To achieve maximum charging, the product needs to be exposed to as much sunlight as possible during the day. This will ensure that it shines brightly and for a long time during the dark hours. A solar cell product contains one or more batteries. These are charged by the sun.

    Why solar?

    Environmentally friendly

All the energy needed to power the energy-efficient LED lighting comes naturally from the sun.

    Easy to use

No electricity or cables are needed.

    Practical

The built-in light sensor turns the light on and off automatically.

    Correct placement of the panel

The solar panel needs to be directed towards the sun to achieve maximum effect.

Bear in mind that other lighting, such as street lighting or fixed lighting, must not shine on the panel, as the solar lamp will then think it is light and will not shine even if it is evening.

A protective film is often placed on the solar panel during delivery. Remove it to get a full charge.

    Smart features for convenient use

All solar cell products have a built-in twilight relay, which means that the product turns on when it starts to get dark and turns off when it gets light. Another smart feature that some of the solar cell products are equipped with is a motion sensor. When the sensor detects movement, the brightness increases for a short time, then decreases to a lower brightness or turns off completely, depending on the model. Convenient and simple!

High lumen output provides stronger light

Some solar cell products are designed to create a cosy atmosphere and be decorative in the garden. These have a lower lumen and are perfect for summer parties or as garden decorations. Other products have a more pronounced function and are more technically advanced. These have a higher lumen and provide a stronger light that can illuminate a façade or walkway, for example.

    Charging & burn time

The solar cell product's battery is charged by the sun. For best results, replace the battery after each season. A simple solar cell product with a single LED light will shine after just a few hours of charging, while a more advanced product with higher lumens needs more hours of sunlight and strong direct sunlight for optimal charging. Also remove the protective film that may be on the solar panel. The lamp's burn time depends on the brightness. A lamp with a higher lumen that shines brighter consumes more energy than one with a lower lumen that shines dimmer. Of course, solar cell products can remain outside even during the winter. They will still shine, but less brightly and for shorter periods as it gets darker.

Take care of the battery and it will last a long time!

Give the battery a good start by charging it to maximum capacity before using the product. Turn it ‘ON’ and leave the panel in the sun. Turn it off in the evening to avoid draining the battery. Repeat this for a few days, preferably for a total of 36 hours. Products without an on/off button have a small protective film. When this is removed, the battery is activated. To get maximum charge, a few sunny days are needed, but the product does not need to be turned off at night.

Take care of your solar product

To enjoy your solar product for many seasons, there are a few simple things you can do to extend its life:

Remember to wipe and clean the panel a few times during the season. Use a carefully wrung-out, soft cloth and only lukewarm water, without any cleaning agents.

Regularly check the battery holder and remove any corrosion.

Replace the batteries after one season.

Only use rechargeable batteries of the correct type and with the correct V/mAh.

You can keep your product outside all year round, but for best durability, we recommend storing the product indoors during the winter. Clean it and remove the batteries.

    Frequently asked questions

How long does the product shine on one charge?

When optimally charged, it shines for approximately 5-6 hours. The burn time is affected by the brightness (lumens) and any other functions.

Why does my solar cell lamp only shine for a short time?

The burn time depends on how much sun it has received and the condition of the battery.

Why is my solar cell lighting not working?

Check that the battery has not slipped out of place. If it still does not light up, give it a new basic charge or replace the battery.

The solar lamp flashes and does not light up steadily

This is often due to the product not having sufficient charge and often occurs in winter. Switch off the product until the sun shines more strongly again.
