LET THE ADVENT STAR SHINE
Inspiration for your Advent star
The Advent star is one of Christmas’s most cherished traditions. It casts a warm glow and is lit when it’s at its darkest. Whether you prefer a classic paper star, a playful design or a modern metal star, there are many ways to make it a natural part of your home. Here are our top tips for decorating with Advent stars during Advent and Christmas.
The classic star in the window
A single star in the window is a timeless favourite that can be seen from both inside and outside. If you want to make the most of the window, you can hang several stars together – ideally in different sizes, colours or patterns. This creates a lively display that catches the eye and casts a generous, atmospheric glow.
Create variety with size and placement
Replace the ceiling light above the kitchen table or in the living room with a large three-dimensional star. Let smaller stars form part of the Christmas table, or place a star leaning against the wall. You can also hang them on hooks and nails in different places around the room – bear in mind that they can look just as lovely without a light source inside.
A welcoming star
Swap your door wreath for an Advent star on the inside of the front door, and you’ll be greeted with a beautiful welcome when you come home. Finally, choose a lovely ribbon to hang the star from, such as velvet, linen or satin. It’s a small detail that makes your Advent star even more decorative.
